A COUPLE have celebrated their platinum wedding anniversary.
On Saturday, it was 70 years since Frank and Emma Roebuck, now 92 and 88, tied the knot.
Mr Roebuck was serving with the Army Air Corp during the Second World War when they met at a dance at the Three Tuns Hotel in Durham.
The couple celebrated with a meal at the city’s County Hotel on Saturday with family and friends.
Mrs Roebuck said: “It does not seem believable that we have been married 70 years, but we have.”
The Roebucks, of Gilesgate Moor, Durham, have three children, seven grandchildren and four great grand children.
Mr Roebuck, who worked as a journalist with the Northern Echo and the Durham Advertiser, said: “Here’s to another 70 years.”
