A RADIO DJ is to skydive 13,000ft dressed as Batman to raise money for a children’s charity.

Metro Radio’s drive-time presenter Stu Elmore will plunge through the skies over County Durham in the summer dressed as the Caped Crusader in aid of the North-east charity Cash For Kids.

He is now looking for fellow daredevils to join him in the jump at Peterlee Parachute Centre on June 10.

Charity manager Lynsey Thompson said: "When I told Stu I had an event for him to do dressed as Batman, he was over the moon until I mentioned it also involved him jumping out of an aeroplane.

"We’re hoping that the public will get behind this unique event, have fun and help us raise some much-needed funds"

The DJ added: "I’m quite excited and mostly terrified about the event. But the thought of a bunch of Batmen, Supermen, Spidermen and even Wonder Women in the sky was awesome enough for me to say yes".
