A TEENAGE singer is preparing for the regional finals of a talent contest.
Singer Holly Bowron, 13, will compete in the 13 to 16 age category of the North-East finals of the Teen Star competition at the Tyne Theatre, Newcastle, on Saturday, March 23.
The schoolgirl, from Framwellgate Moor, Durham City, qualified following a two-minute audition held at the same venue.
The St Leonard’s RC School pupil will perform the song Just Be, by Poloma Faith.
She also enjoys listening to Emeli Sande and One Direction.
Holly is part of the Gala Theatre Stage School and has also performed with Durham Musical Theatre Company.
She said: “I’m not nervous. I’m excited at the minute.
“But when I come to it I’ll be nervous.”
Holly is hoping to win a place in the Teen Star area finals. The national finals will be held at the O2 Arena, in London.
