HOME-MADE quilts will be sold in a village hall to raise money for the military charity Help for Heroes.

Following the success of its first quilt show in 2011, Threadbangers, a group of ten amateur quilt makers, has planned its second fundraising event for the charity which helps rehabilitate injured servicemen and women.

The last event raised £3,000 for the charity.

Val Ramsey, from the group, said: "We each have charities which have helped us personally, but we picked Help for Heores as our chosen charity because everyone in the country owes something to these men and women.”

The show will be held in Heighington Village Hall, in Heighington, near Darlington, on March 16 and 17, from 10am to 4pm each day. For more information, call 01325-300489.
