POLICE are appealing for information after jewellery and watches were stolen in a burglary.
The break-in happened between 10am on Sunday, December 30, and 7.45pm on Monday, January 1, at a house in Crow Lane, Sunderland.
The offender broke in through a back door and searched the house before breaking into a safe and stealing a number of items.
Items stolen include a Victorian 22 carat gold yellow ring with ten diamonds and a brown leather and gold Cartier ladies watch (Trinity) engraved with 'presented to Richard Brown Unilever'.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have been offered any similar items for sale or anyone who witnessed the break-in.
Detective Constable Marie King said: "These items hold great sentimental value to the owner, in particular the Cartier ladies' watch and we'd urge anyone who knows where they might be to contact us."
Anyone with any information should contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
