FORMER Sunderland chairman Sir Bob Murray has been installed as chancellor of Leeds Metropolitan University.
The Consett-born businessman studied accountancy at the university’s predecessor, Leeds Polytechnic, and received an honorary doctorate in business administration from the institution in 2008.
Sir Bob , who found success in the home improvement industry, was at the helm at Sunderland from 1986 to 2006.
During his tenure the club moved from its old Roker Park home to the Stadium of Light.
