A MAN has appeared before magistrates after being charged with attempting to murder a 22-year-old man in his flat.
John Gilmore, 40, of Market Place, Richmond, was arrested at around 8am on Sunday.
He is alleged to have stabbed Joshua Powell, who suffered serious hand and facial injuries, several times.
Gilmore bowed his head and spoke only to confirm his name and address when he appeared at Northallerton Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, January 15).
Presiding magistrate John Seymour said that as Gilmore had made no application for bail, he would remain in custody until Tuesday (January 22), when he will appear at Teesside Crown Court for a pre-trial hearing.
