THREE more people have been arrested following the shooting of a man in a pub car park.
The incident, believed to be related to organised crime, took place at the Six Mile Bridge Inn in Seaton Burn, Tyneside, at 4.12pm on Friday.
The arrests follow two other arrests last night.
Four men aged 22, 23, 47 and 52 and a 25-year-old woman have now been held in connection with the incident and are helping police with their enquiries.
The 54-year-old man who was injured in the attack is continuing to receive treatment in hospital. His injuries are not described as life-threatening.
Officers are continuing with their enquiries and patrols have been increased in the area to both reassure the local community and appeal for further information.
A number of addresses are being visited by officers and this will continue.
"The shooting is not being treated as a random attack and is believed to involve internal disputes between criminals in the area," a spokesman for Northumbria Police said.
Anyone with any information in connection with the incident is asked to contact police on the 101 non-emergency number or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
