CHILDREN have taken part in a seasonal sheep-finding Nativity trail across Durham City.
The event was organised by Elvet Methodist Church on Old Elvet and included a dozen shops around the city centre.
Today (Sunday, December 30) participants joined together in a special church service with a craft session afterwards.
Organiser Penny Bissell said: “This was a Messy Sheep Nativity Trail through a dozen shops in Durham who have agreed to look after a sheep and give it a name.
“Leaflets were distributed to some classes in the primary schools in the Durham area.
“Parents and children were encouraged to take part in this trail round the shops indicated on the leaflet, and find the name of the sheep hiding there.”
Prizes and refreshments were made available at the service.
