TWINS aged seven have been airlifted to hospital after a Boxing Day crash on Teesside.
Four vehicles were involved in the collision on the A174 near Redcar just after 10am today.
A little boy, one of the twins, was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough by air ambulance with head injuries and a fractured leg.
His sister was taken to hospital with less serious injuries by police helicopter and another child and two adults also needed hospital treatment.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which took place near Yearby, or for anyone with further information, to get in touch.
The A174 is currently closed in both directions and is likely to remain closed for a number of hours, police said.
Anyone with information can contact the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency police number 101 quoting reference number 230130.
