TEENAGERS had the chance yesterday to look at options for their future - and have some fun.
County Durham Connexions staged its annual Get Sorted, at the Abbey Leisure Centre, Pity Me, Durham, to give 16- to 19-year-olds information a on things such as further education, training and jobs.
The event was attended by colleges, training providers and employers, including local businesses, councils and the Armed Forces.
But there was also the opportunity to have a bit of fun, as there was a DJ workshop and a henna tattooing session.
Local radio station Durham FM broadcast for two hours from the event, interviewing youngsters and exhibitors.
"It went very well,'' said Tom Lynn, a personal advisor at Connexions' Durham office. "There were the best part of 600 people through the door, and we had a lot of positive feedback from them.
"Last year, we held the event at Durham Town hall, but we decided we needed a bigger venue, somewhere with more space. It has been educational, but it has also been fun as well, which helps get people in."
