A PENSIONER suffered facial injuries when two burglars targeted her home on Friday night.
The 70-year-old woman was taken to The University Hospital for North Tees for treatment.
The pair had entered her home on Darlington Lane, Stockton, at around 6.30pm and took a number of items.
Officers have been conducting house-to-house enquiries and there will be an increased police presence and patrols in the area.
Two 19-year-old men, from the Middlesbrough and Stockton areas, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in custody.
Cleveland Police would like to appeal to anyone who has any information to come forward. They are also reminding people to be vigilant and not answer the door to people they don’t know.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Stuart Hodgson on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
