POLICE believe a man was shot following a dispute near a North-East pub.
Officers were called to a report of a man being injured in the Benton area of Newcastle at just after 5pm this evening (Friday, December 14).
Police and an ambulance went to Whitley Road, where they found the man with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
Further investigations revealed that there had been a disturbance in the car park of the Wheatsheaf pub, on Whitley Road, just before the man was found.
Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101.
