A MAN and youth have been charged after a wooden pallet was dropped onto a train from a railway bridge.
British Transport Police were called to the incident just outside Ferryhill, County Durham, involving a Cross Country train on August 25.
The windscreen and wipers of the train, which was travelling from Aberdeen to Penzance. were damaged but no-one was hurt.
Christopher Brass, 21, of Grasmere Road, Ferryhill, has been charged with trespassing on the railway in relation to the incident.
A 15-year-old Ferryhill teenager has also been charged with trespassing on the railway.
Both will appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court, County Durham, on Friday, December 28.
No further action is to be taken against a 15-year-old Spennymoor youth and a 15-year-old Ferryhill youth arrested in connection with the offence.
