A SCHOOLGIRL has won a competition to christen a fictional kingdom featured in a Christmas pantomime.

Beth Shaw, nine, from Chester-le-Street, County Durham, won the contest to name the land in Sleeping Beauty, at Durham’s Gala Theatre, with her suggestion of Chucklevania.

Show writer and director Simon Stallworthy has now included in the name in the script.

Beth will receive a VIP family ticket to the pantomime, including merchandise and refreshments.

Two runners-up, Anthony Howells, nine, from Bishop Auckland, and Alyssa Young, six, from Sedgefield, will receive family tickets to the show.
