A WOMAN is facing jail after her dog attacked a man in the street and left him with teeth marks in his bottom.
Jamie Robinson was bitten by the Staffordshire bull terrier in Union Street, Middlesbrough, on July 5 this year.
Carol McLay today (Wednesday, December 12) admitted being in charge of a dog which caused injury while dangerously out of control.
The 39-year-old, of Princes Road, Middlesbrough, will be sentenced at Teesside Crown Court in the new year.
Judge Simon Bourne-Arton, QC, adjourned the case for background reports and granted McLay conditional bail.
He told her: "That should not lead you to the view that anything other than a custodial sentence will be considered."
McLay's lawyer, Andrew Teate, said she was on a court drug rehabilitation requirement for possessing heroin.
He admitted the case was "undoubtedly serious" but said a suspended prison sentence could be considered.
