A thief stole an 89-year-old woman’s purse from her handbag as she shopped in Bishop Auckland. The theft took place at noon on Saturday, December 8, while the victim was in the Pound shop, on Newgate Street.
The victim had withdrawn a large amount of money from the Victoria Avenue Post Office shortly before the theft. The black leather purse has the name Jenny embossed on it.
Anyone with information should contact Bishop Auckland Police on 101.
