What was your first car?

It was a C-reg Fiesta, blue, which I sprayed black with speed stripes (I know, I know!). It had no clutch. My brother was a mechanic so fixed it for me. It cost £25.

How many times did it take to pass your test?

I passed first time. I had a driving instructor who taught me in a Citroen Saxo. He didn’t believe I would pass and almost told me that on the pre-test with him – but I showed him! Even though my two friends followed me round while doing it - great mates!

Who would be your ideal fantasy passenger and where would you like to go?

The Northern Echo: Sir David Attenborough (ARKive)

I know it’s a cliché, but I would have David Attenborough as my passenger and I would go on safari with him.

What is your dream car?

A Corvette, just because it’s a cool looking car!

The Northern Echo:

How would you describe your driving style?

I’m a confident driver who takes him time! I enjoy driving.

Tell me one driving anecdote from your past?

Once I was driving to Canvey Island to see family and a huge dog chased my car on the A127… It was a strange experience. He ran out of steam in the end!

What do you drive?

I drive a VW Transporter camper van, because I love camping.
