What was your first car?

A huge turquoise Ford Mondeo. Strange choice for a young 17 or 18-year-old girl to be driving around in I know, but my dad was upgrading his car and kindly donated his old one to me free of charge so I could take it to University with me. It was huge and a nightmare to park especially in the multi-storey.

How many times did it take to pass your test?

My dad taught me in that Mondeo starting off in the car parks at the Team Valley before letting me loose on the roads around Gateshead. He was obviously a great teacher as I passed first time! I had a few lessons with an instructor as well.

Who would be your ideal fantasy passenger and where would you go?

Alan Shearer, I'd drive him to St James' Park, beg him to put his boots on and finish some of our chances so we can move up the table.

What is your dream car?

An Aston Martin DB9 Vanquish Volante in metallic grey because they're bad ass and I'd feel like a Bond girl!

The Northern Echo:

How would you describe your driving style?

Confident and considerate - I'm always letting people out. My dad taught me to always let one person out to keep things moving although down south I find not too many people repay the favour!

Tell me one driving anecdote from your past?

A week after I passed my test I managed to persuade my brother to let me take his car out. I pulled out of the estate, stalled the car on the main road, panicked, turned the engine back on, slammed it into reverse and drove straight into the car that was behind me. My brother never lent me his car again and I learnt to always check the mirrors.

What are you listening to?

5Live or Talk Sport because you can never have enough football chat in your life.

The Northern Echo: Danny Baker admitted large chunks of his career were 'an appalling waste of time'

What do you drive now?

I hardly ever drive at the moment as I moved to West Sussex and it's so much quicker to take the train to work. You tend to sit still on the M25 rather than drive on it. I'd like a Porsche Cayenne soon though.
