THIS is the new, more fuel efficient, SEAT Alhambra.

Available to order at the end of May, it features a completely redesigned engine line-up.

All meet tough Euro 6 emissions standards, with the turbo-charged direct injection units up to 15 per cent more efficient.

SEAT says the 2.0 TDI, which puts out 148bhp, is capable of returning 57.6mpg with 130 g/km CO2.

A second 2.0 litre unit will put out 181bhp, while a 1.4 litre TSI petrol unit is also available.

All engines can be combined with a DSG dual-clutch gearbox, which features a fuel-saving coasting function. As soon as the driver lifts off the accelerator, the Alhambra runs with the engine decoupled.

The Alhambra also features the next generation of SEAT Easy Connect infotainment systems, which include high resolution touch screen displays and faster processors.

New rear LED lights have been introduced, there’s a modified grille and new wheel designs.

The interior comes with new trim colours, the design of the steering wheel has been taken from the Leon and keyless entry and start is available.
