From Valentines, Christmas to Memorial day amongst so many others, Teal Farm community has been able to show their love and support for each traditional holiday through a mysterious local knitter, who has perfectly achieved the ability to serenade the communal area with a monthly piece fitting to what we as a nation are experiencing over the coming times.

From before COVID times, Teal Farm has been a very close net community with local favourites such as 'Teal Farm Pub' to Sainsburys and independant Salon shops, allowing the area to grow in its significance as a preferable location in Washington. After, hundreds of new homes were built the area has been able to expand; re-instating its prominance to the area. Now, after parks, basket ball hoops, river walks have found a way into benefiting the rebranding of the area, Teal Farm localises with anonymous knitter creating timeless work for the local post box.

The latest addition was inkeeping with our global holiday Valentines, as the box was decorated with a vibrant blush pink top, detailed with woollen 3D swans, hearts and brilliant colours.

The post box has been a local favourite for many months now as locals anticipate the next artwork to be toppped onto the box, as a focal point to the main road of Teal Farm all vistors who drive through are able to see the box and hopefully bring a smile to their face.

More recently, the secret Knitter has added significant quotes, messages and heartwarming serenades, wishing everyone loving Valentines- emphasising the spread of love vastly this year to everyone who needs it. A valuable and peaceful addition to brighten the hearts of the community and share their own opnions on it.

While many have took to social medias: Facebook clubs, many have openly expressed their opinions and favourites about the woollen sculptures and decorations.

"My favourite was Memorial day, a soldiers head was a pinnacle, a real head turner".

"Fascinating, how they're made and how much people enjoy them".

It's clear that everyone enjoys how these colourful decorations have impacted the local area and 'Teal Farm Garden' already balanced with numerous spring plants and flowers as well as local wooden bench from Penshaw carvings.

As we anticipate the next showcase for the post box, we remain wide-eyed about the potential holidays that are going to be celebrated including: St Patricks day, Mother's Day and Easter. We hope the community continue to show appreciation for the topper's Knitter or Knitter's, for the festive scenes and the prolonged hours of work and dedication it takes for each strand to be woven.
