THIS week's slightly shortened Memories delves into a fascinating packet of pictures in The Northern Echo's library which show how the town was radically reshaped in the 1960s and 1970s by the inner ring road, a ribbon of dual carriageway which may ease traffic flow but which also acts as a noose around the town centre.
If any of these pictures bring back any memories, or if you have any information about any of these scenes, or if you can identify PSF 367, please email chris.lloyd@nne.co.uk
