It’s been a little frustrating recently, because two of our games have been called off, against Warrington and Washington.

It means that the Washington game in the Durham Challenge Cup will be played next week, so our trip to Kendal has had to be re-arranged.

I suppose in some ways we’ve been lucky with the weather so far this season, we haven’t had many at all called off.

People are saying that we’ve got a fixture pile up, but this is nothing compared to the backlog we had two seasons ago, when we had games called off because of bad weather over three months and our Vase run! We played three games a week near the end of that season, and we were still playing in the middle of May.

I’ve been at Spennymoor for several years, and we’ve played lots of games near the end of the season for as long as I can remember. So we’re used to it.

We’re supposed to be at New Mills this Saturday, but the weather isn’t too good down there, so we might be facing another postponed game.

It’s a pity, because we feel that we’re coming into good form, and able to capitalise on other results going in our favour. So we might have to arrange a friendly this Saturday like we did last week against Guisborough.

We’re sat in the play off positions at the moment, and we believe we’re in the position where we should be, and able to keep the pressure on the clubs above us.
