Land of hope and glory
For those who now live here
Those who lived before you
Never knew such days.
They toiled in darkest danger
Far from earthly light
Supporting wives and children
Bringing them up right.
Called to fight in foreign lands
Some never to return
Or cast aside life ruined
Never more a penny earned.
Is this their final heritage?
Will nations never learn
To live in peace together
To treasure our fair land.
The land of hope and glory
Mother of the free
May we long adore thee
We do are brought up free.
