PUNK priestess Patti Smith shows no signs of slowing down with her 11th studio album, her first album of original music for eight years.
Bringing in a band of performers which includes her children Jesse and Jackson, as well as long-time collaborators Lenny Kaye and Television’s Tom Verlaine, Banga brings Smith’s songwriting and story-telling bang up to date.
As an album it doesn’t feel as whole as earlier offerings such as Horses, but with such a wealth of great tracks, it hardly matters.
