DUTCH jazz singer Caro Emerald broke Michael Jackson’s record for the most weeks at No1 in her homeland with this album.
I doubt there was much competition from her compatriots, but nevertheless it’s a notable achievement for the performer who will be supporting Katie Melua on her upcoming UK tour.
Mixing traditional styles with an infusion of the modern, there’s hints of Paloma Faith, but Emerald’s work has enough going for it for her to able to stand out on her own.
