MARINA LAMBRINI DIAMANDIS, better known by her stage name Marina and the Diamonds, is a Welsh singersongwriter tipped for great things. You can certainly see her potential through her sparkly pop tunes.
The audience went wild as the shoulder-padded diva stepped out. Many believe The Diamonds is her backing band, but Marina means it as a reference to her loyal fans.
Her set consisted of tracks from her debut album, The Family Jewels, including Obsessions, Seventeen and I Am Not A Robot.
The audience needed no encouragement to dance with rapturous abandon, and she kept the crowd fully engaged.
Most fans were there for amazing track Hollywood and the small, but sold-out venue exploded into a dance frenzy.
Her final song was the powerful Mowgli’s Road and the crowd gave their last bit of energy dancing to the sounds of a variety of instruments.
Marina and The Diamonds proved to be not just a hyped “band to look out for” but real, raw talent that will, hopefully, take them a long way.
