SUN Shuyun spent over a year in a Tibetan village learning how the villagers had adapted their culture and lifestyle to modern Communist Chinese rule.
Her observations was that religious tradition, a lively sense of humour and tremendous endurance have enabled them to survive in a bewildering new world.
