Animated modern fairytale in which brave mouse Despereaux (voiced by Matthew Broderick) is banished to the dungeon for speaking with a human.
He’s only one of several unlikely heroes in this story. Roscuro (Dustin Hoffman) is a good-hearted rat who’s been exiled to darkness and Pea (Emma Watson, Hermione in the Harry Potter films) is a princess who’s prisoner to her father’s grief in a gloomy castle.
Then there’s Mig (Tracey Ullman), a servant girl forced to serve the jailer (Robbie Coltrane).
They’re brought together for a tale of bravery, forgiveness and redemption. Others heard in the impressive cast include Sigourney Weaver, Kevin Kline, Stanley Tucci, Christopher Lloyd, William H Macy and Frank Langella.
