CBEEBIES at the Theatre isn’t afraid to get the message across – while keeping the children entertained along the way.
Tackling environmental issues may be a bit highbrow for toddlers, but there’s a fun and informative way of doing it, as proved here.
Jenny Jumble and PC Plum, more familiar to the audience from Balamory, take you on a recycling adventure with lots more friendly characters introduced along the way.
It wouldn’t be right to talk composting without Bill and Ben, so they are at hand, while Tommy Zoom has to chase away the evil Polluto, who wants to destroy the recycling bin.
Postman Pat and Jess come along in a runaway train – now there’s a cue for a song.
Tommy Zoom, CBeebies’ favourite eco-superhero, isn’t far away. But, even with the help of the Koala Brothers, will he be able to stop Polluto?
With very colourful scenery and costumes and a rack of sing-a-long songs, this was lapped up by the miniature audience. There’s endless interaction for the crowd – this three-and-a-half-year-old reviewer had a cracking time.
And please don’t think it’s a message endlessly rammed home; more a theme on which a thoroughly entertaining show for toddlers is based.
