THE people of the North-East are familiar with the influence of the Quakers through the likes of families such as the Peases at Darlington and the Rowntrees at York, but has their day gone, and is their role diminished?
Not one bit of it, as the intriguingly- named Pink Dandelion shows effectively how these champions of morality in public are just as active as in the past, have an importance way beyond their numbers and, in an era of general Christian decline, are actually increasing their numbers. Good on them, and how lucky we are to have them around today.
