Sibelius: The Complete Music for Voice and Orchestra (BIS CD1906/08)
The third instalment in the Sibelius Edition includes orchestral songs, cantatas, melodramas and the composer's only opera, The Maiden in the Tower. Other works include Sibelius's famous piece, Kullervo, as well as The Origin of Fire. A must for Sibelius devotees.
Bezaly: French Delights (BIS-SACD- 1639)
The renowned flautist Sharon Bezaly performs music by French composers, such as Charles-Marie Widor and Darius Milhaud. She performs here alongside pianist Love Derwinger and soprano Barbara Hendricks.
Steve Reich (CPO 777 337-2)
Members of the London Steve Reich Ensemble bring their interpretation of Sextet, Piano Phase and Eight Lines to this disc. Only the second time the Sextet has been recorded, it makes for compelling listening.
