TELEVISION personality Scarlett Moffatt is thrilled to be headlining the pantomime at one of her favourite venues this winter.

The former Queen of the Jungle will turn into a Fairy Godmother for the Sunderland Empire's panto Cinderella, from December 13 to January 5.

With two books and a string of television roles under her belt, the 29-year-old has become a household name since she and her Bishop Auckland family appeared in Gogglebox.

She won I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2016 and is currently filming a new show for Channel 4.

Scarlett said she is thrilled to have landed a role in the panto, as she is a regular at the theatre and gets to stay close to loved ones over the festive period.

Alongside her will be the host of Newcastle cabaret hotspot Boulevard Miss Rory, aka Dan Cunningham, and Duncan Burt as the ugly sisters Rorina and Ruby Hardup.

Musical theatre and children's television star Gemma Naylor, who will be best known by many youngsters from Nick Jnr's pop band Go!Go!Go!, will play Cinderella.

ITV’s Superstars finalist Jon Moses, who has performed in many national theatre roles, will be in his home city to play the Prince and Tom Whalley, from Durham, will star as Buttons.
