AUSTRALIAN musician Tom Morgan is like a latter-day Bob Dylan. The former member of Evan Dando’s The Lemonheads has a gravelly voice reminiscent of a mature Dylan, with his lyrics dealing with similar themes – broken love affairs and ruminations about the meaning of life. Morgan’s voice remains strong on all 10 tracks without varying one jot, but the songs are strong, particularly the quite excellent Fatherland and opener One True Love. Orange Syringe is certainly interesting, even if it may not add anything new to the singer-songwriter’s template.
