German pianist and composer Markus Berger is now resident in California, and for his first jazz album for over ten years he’s taken the opportunity to record with Bob Magnusson, double bass, and drummer Joe LaBarbera. The warm and crystal clear recording greatly enhances a well-considered mix of Berger’s original compositions tempered with fresh interpretations of In Love in Vain and Blue in Green.
