The Specials… surprised many by reforming in 2009, for their 30th anniversary, and are still playing four years later, having travelled all over the world and sold out hundreds of concerts. Now, there are ten more UK shows in May next year, with Tyneside on the tour sheet.
The band last played in the summer at the Hyde Park (London) closing show for the Olympics alongside Blur, New Order and Bombay Bicycle Club. Last night, The Specials were due to go on air with 6 Music, using the famous Maida Vale studios, but next May will be the first chance for people to come and see one of the most celebrated and revered bands the country has ever produced.
