THE Californian quartet release the second part of their album trilogy amid a cancelled tour due to frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s decision to enter rehab. In a return to the band’s punk-pop roots, this LP has a punchier sound than recent collections. First single Stray Heart is a retro spectacular, which could reside on any of the band’s 1990s albums. Equally, F Time has Dookie’s punk sensibility and will surely establish crowd euphoria in live shows.
Though the short production timescale makes some tracks feel better suited as B-sides, Dos!
is an apt edition to their catalogue.
