WOODLAND courses are being held this month throughout the North-East by Northwoods.
A one-day management course at Blagdon, Northumberland, will cover broad leaf and coniferous trees, teaching the basics of establishing a wood, choosing the composition of trees and maintaining its quality and health.
A one-day course on basic tree surveying is designed for people who look after forests and woodlands in public places.
Courses start from £30 and include introductory and intermediate level chainsaw training, tree climbing, first aid, chipper operation and an ignite course on wood fuel.
