ONE of the region’s agricultural colleges is holding a series of free taster days for potential students.
Activities organised by Askham Bryan College, in York, include tractor driving, going off-road in a Land Rover, and taking a spin in a Lotus Europa.
The college offers a variety of courses in agriculture, equestrian, landscape design, sports turf management, outdoors adventure sport and motor racing mechanics.
Much of the training is on the college’s farm, which includes a 250-dairy herd, and its equestrian centre, with 40 horses.
Aimed at 16 to 19 year olds, the taster days include tractor driving on August 11, from 10am to 3pm; off-road Land Rover rallying and spin in a Lotus, August 5 and 18, from 1pm to 4.30pm and a weeklong adventure course, starting on August 25th.
