As part of our Foundation for Jobs campaign, this column is devoted to a young person so they can issue a "give-me-a-break" call to local firms.

Name: Dan Suffield
Age: 18 From: Newton Aycliffe
Looking for: An apprenticeship.

Dan attended Woodham Community Technical College, which is now Woodham Academy. He took his exams, and, in his own words, got "quite a few grades I wanted to get."

He then left to go to Darlington College where he did Level 2 domestic electrical maintenance and came out with a City & Guilds certificate.

"I heard about South West Durham Training doing electrical maintenance and I decided to enroll on a course. What we do here is very relevant to the job. Staff are really friendly.

"I hope to come out with with a qualification in electrical and mechanical maintenance.

I am easy-going. I can get along with others very well. I am interested and motivated in doing the job. I am also hard-working."

Anyone who can help Dan is asked to call 01325 505075 or email barry.nelson@nne.co.uk
