ONE of the region’s biggest industrial property sales this year has seen the sale of a 302,027 sq ft warehouse unit at Wynyard Park in Teesside.

A leading global technology services provider has purchased the newly developed unit from BA Pension Fund and is making a £30m investment in the project.

The new occupiers will be using the property as a hi-tech data centre.

The unit is the first phase of NE 360°, a speculative development by Helioslough in a joint venture with British Airways Pension Trustees, with a second phase of a further 400,000 sq ft having detailed planning consent.

The NE 360° scheme in turn forms part of the overall redevelopment taking place at Wynyard Park, which includes modern office and industrial units of various sizes available to rent or buy. There is also land available for design and build facilities.

Simon Hill, industrial agency partner at King Sturge, said: “We are very pleased to have completed such a significant deal for the region.

“It is fantastic that Wynyard Park has attracted a major international company of this quality.

“The investment in the development shows their confidence in the quality of the facilities on offer at Wynyard Park.

“NE 360° provides the perfect solution for the company to establish a hi-tech data facility, providing a modern warehouse unit which can be adapted to suit their individual needs.

“We expect this deal will help us attract more occupiers to phase two, where we can accommodate up to 375,000 sq ft.”

Joint agents on the scheme are King Sturge, Knight Frank and M3.
