JOMAST Developments' commercial property arm is bucking industry trends after successfully leasing more than 10,000 sq ft of office space in the last few weeks.

Despite growing fears of a downturn in the UK economy, Stockton-based Jomast Developments has only one floor remaining at its 28-32 Albert Road office building after Barclays added a further floor to its Middlesbrough call centre facility.

Similarly, national employment and skills agency, Working Links, has increased its local operation by a further 5,000 sq ft at Sun Alliance House, also on Albert Road.

Mark Hill, commercial property manager at Jomast Developments, said: "Despite all the doom and gloom surrounding the national economy, we are still seeing positive signs from local and regional organisations who are looking to either relocate or expand their business.

"Albert Road has always been a popular location with service- based companies due to its high footfall and central location, and even though we are seeing a period of economic uncertainty on a national scale, it seems that local businesses are still seeking additional office and industrial space."

Jomast Developments has a commercial property portfolio that includes modern office schemes, industrial units and retail outlets throughout the North-East.
