M&S Supplies, one of the largest hairdressing and beauty wholesale cash and carry companies in the North-East, has taken two trade counter units at UK Land Estates' Blaydon Trade Park, a total of 4,836 sq ft, on a ten-year lease.

M&S Supplies offers over 8,000 products to the hairdressing and beauty industry. This is the seventh branch of the chain to open, with five branches based in the North-West, one in Leeds and a headquarters in Liverpool.

Alan Stokoe, branch manager of M&S Supplies Newcastle, said: "This is the perfect place for us. It gives immediate access to Newcastle and the A1 and is ideal for our delivery service.

"The trade park is centrally located and very easy for our customers to find. The state-of-the-art building reflects the type of products we offer and our high standards."

Phase two of Blaydon Trade Park has only one unit remaining, with the 18 other units either let or under offer. The last remaining unit is 2,906 sq ft.

John Seager, development surveyor for UK Land Estates, said: "The success of Blaydon Trade Park reinforces UK Land Estates' belief in the strength of the commercial market on Chainbridge Road and in the whole of Blaydon. The trade counter philosophy enables tenants to sell direct to the commercial market."

Mark Proudlock, of Knight Frank, said: "UK Land's trade park development at Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate in North Shields also has only one unit remaining.
