AN apprentice scheme has revealed record-breaking results after just two months of a campaign.
The National Apprenticeship Service says its 100 Days Challenge, which runs from March 31 until July 8, has already helped 1,124 people access apprenticeships with 650 employers.
Supported by the North East Chamber of Commerce and 28 training providers, it encourages employers to recruit as many apprentices as possible over the period.
Nick Wilson, deputy director for the Skills Funding Agency in the North-East, said: “By working collaboratively a much greater impact can be achieved and this exceptional milestone supports that.
“Apprenticeships are a great way for young people to earn while they learn in a real job, gaining real qualifications, setting them on the road to success in their chosen career.
