AN academy has been launched to provide training for energy industry apprentices.
The Fabricom Offshore Services Academy opens today (Wednesday, January 30) in Newcastle as a hub for design and project engineers.
The academy will offer training for graduates and apprentices from qualified engineers, with more than 30 people are already taking part in learning courses.
Rt Hon Brian Wilson, a UK business ambassador, will open the academy alongside Fabricom Offshore Services’ chief executive officer, Allan Cairns, and head of human resources, Kevin Gilbert, with graduates and apprentices offering training demonstrations throughout the day.
The academy will be based in Quorum Business Park, Newcastle.
