DURHAM Business School (DBS) has appointed twin brothers, Doctors Paul and Mathew Hughes.

The pair completed their undergraduate business studies degrees, masters and PhDs together at the School of Management and Business, University of Wales in Aberystwyth, before pursuing their academic careers separately. Their appointment marks the first time they will be a part of the same academic team since 2004.

Paul joins DBS as Senior Lecturer in strategy. His previous role was lecturer in strategic management and director of joint programmes at The School of Business and Economics, Loughborough University.

Mathew has been appointed as Reader in entrepreneurial management, having previously served as Associate Professor in entrepreneurship and innovation at Nottingham University Business School, where he was also Director of the MSc entrepreneurship and deputy director of doctoral programmes. His work has been published widely in journals such as British Journal of Management, Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Business Research and the Journal of Small Business Management.
