A FORMER Durham University student will be the next chief executive of the organisation that represents 128,000 accountants.
Manchester-born Michael Izza, 45, who studied law at Durham and was president of the student union in 1982-83, will take the reins of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in December. He is the institute's chief operating officer, executive director and is a member of the board.
Mr Izza said: "To become chief executive of my own professional body is both a privilege and an honour."
