A TRAINING charity is inviting applications for an engineering apprenticeship scheme, supported by leading process industry firms.
The TTE Technical Training Groups four year Tees Valley Production Technician (TVPT) Studentship is supported by employers including Sembcorp Utilities, Sabic and Glaxo SmithKline.
During the first two years the students earn £95 a week when they are based at TTE's training centre in South Bank, Middlesbrough.
In the second half of the programme they earn a wage in the region of £185 a week when they are working on site with their sponsoring company.
The programme is aimed at equipping students with the skills required to contribute to the ongoing success of the process industry.
Students applying for the programme will need, or expect to achieve this year, five GCSEs at A*-B grade, which include English, Math and Science.
Keith Leslie, director of apprenticeships at TTE, said: "The TVPT provides excellent career prospects and many previous graduates have gone on to earn salaries well above the national average.
"The Teesside process sector is very supportive of this programme with sponsorship provided by some of the most established names in the industry.
"This enables students to prove their ability to sponsors from day one and enhance their prospects for future employment."
