BUSINESSES can rent office space for an hour at a time under a scheme launched by a green business park.

Lingfield Point, in Darlington, is hoping small businesses and new startups will be most likely to take advantage of the Alaska hot-desking facility at Lingfield House.

Eddie Humphries, estate manager at Lingfield Point, said: “Alaska will allow today’s flexible and more mobile workforce to hotdesk at an office close to them or to their customers.

“There are also benefits for the growing company, which may not be ready to take the plunge and have its own office space.

“It will also prove ideal for executives who need to find a better balance between the need to be highly mobile, yet enjoy quality office time.”

Middlesbrough-based Jo Hand Recruitment was the first company to take advantage of the facility.

Regional operations manager Laura Stobart said: “We have had our own offices in Darlington for over a year, but we have moved away from having a static office and instead secured a series of hot desks and facilities across the region.”
