AN internet-based office equipment company from North Yorkshire is expanding into new premises and could create jobs after a surge in sales.

Aabro Office Supplies, which supplies stationery, office equipment and office furniture solutions to businesses across the UK and Ireland, has moved from the centre of Stokesley to bigger premises on the nearby Stokesley Business Park.

The company employs eight staff, but its new base can accommodate 35 people, which will allow Aabro to take on staff as it continues to grow. It has already created jobs this year.

Aabro says it has seen sales growth of more than 50 per cent in the past 12 months, which it has attributed to the effectiveness of its new website.

A recent £50,000 investment in back office software has enabled the company to offer a much improved service, from receipt of order to order tracking and product delivery – all within 24 hours of the order being placed.

Director Jeff Robertson said the move was essential to gear Aabro up for the next stage of growth and expansion in its principal markets of schools, colleges, NHS departments and office-based professions such as legal firms and accountancies.

He said: “Since focusing our efforts on e-commerce and telemarketing, as opposed to field sales, we have grown very quickly over the past two years and needed to relocate to provide enough room for expansion over the coming months.

“To help maximise opportunities, we have recently employed additional personal account managers and are looking for more telemarketeers.

“Alongside this, we have new marketing and business development strategies running, which we are sure will build on the successes of recent years.”
